Happy
A visit to India is an extraordinary experience, a voyage that provokes the mind and enchants the senses. India lies in South Asia, between Pakistan, China, and Nepal. The country’s 28 states hold virtually every kind of landscape from snow-capped mountains to deserts and palm-fringed beaches.
India’s civilization is an amalgam of the Vedic, Islamic, and Western streams and the monuments, sculptures and paintings bear testimony to the national ethos for harmony and diversity. In a country as diverse and complex as India, it is not surprising to find that people here reflect the rich glories of the past, the culture, traditions and values relative to geographic locations and the numerous distinctive manners, habits and food that will always remain truly Indian. Traveling through the country is not just a journey but an experience of a lifetime.
Indian lifestyles clearly glorify the geography, from the eternal snows of the Himalayas to the cultivated peninsula of the South; the deserts of the West to the humid deltas of the East; and the dry heat and cold of the Central Plateau to the cool forest foothills. The food, clothing and habits of Indian people differ in accordance to the place of origin. Above all, India is a country, which has to be experienced from the first Namaste (hello) to the last good-bye!
10 THINGS TO DO
BEST TIME TO VISIT
India is a pleasure to visit during the cooler months between October and March. At this time, the heat of the summer is gone and tourism becomes an enjoyable affair. Rajasthan’s dry and arid land is more bearable in the winter months. The months of March to May are hot and humid in most parts of the country and unbearable for most visitors. This is the time to take off to the hills and see another facet of this fascinating country. March to May and September and November are months for trekking in the Himalayas. So, if you have plans to do serious mountain climbing or take part in some adventure sports, plan your trip to India around this time.
